Job Description
The Senior Coordinator of Partnerships & Recruitment for CA Workforce Programs leads engagement with external partners, including higher education institutions, government agencies, career technical education, non-profits, workforce organizations, and school districts, to strengthen pipelines into the Healthy School Food Pathway Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship programs. This role is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships that support participant recruitment and program expansion. The Senior Coordinator also contributes to the development of outreach strategies, oversees local recruitment activities, and ensures strong alignment between partners and program goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivates and manages external partnerships to support recruitment and program alignment. Identifies, initiates, and maintains relationships with higher education institutions, government agencies, career technical education, non-profits, workforce organizations, and school districts. Ensures partner alignment with program goals and helps resolve challenges related to partner engagement;
- Represents the program at external meetings and events. Attends and presents at community info sessions, workforce convenings, career fairs, district partner meetings, and college-hosted events to raise program visibility and build connections;
- Leads and supports localized recruitment activities across California: Coordinates outreach events, supports material distribution, conducts school and community visits, and provides on-the-ground support to increase applicant volume in key regions;
- Tracks recruitment and partnership progress: Maintains detailed documentation of outreach activities, updates records in Salesforce, contributes to internal tracking reports, and analyzes performance data to inform strategy;
- Provides partner-facing support to ensure alignment with program goals and timelines: Develops and shares key materials, answers questions about participant eligibility and recruitment windows, collaborates on program promotional efforts, and supports partner readiness for each application cycle;
- Leads and supports strategic partnership initiatives, identifying, recommending, and actively contributing to the implementation of pathway-aligned efforts, such as co-enrollment opportunities, credit for prior learning, or connections to adult education and workforce systems. Co-leads targeted recruitment strategies with community college partners and contributes to broader systems change efforts;
- Equips partners to lead outreach and recruitment within their networks: Provides resources, training, and messaging guidance to partners so they can promote the program through their own trusted channels, expanding visibility and reducing recruitment barriers in local communities;
- Supports data analysis and continuous improvement: Reviews lead sources, conversion metrics, and partner feedback to identify areas of strength and gaps in recruitment efforts;
- Collaborates with internal teams to align external engagement with program implementation: Coordinates with the Participant Experience, Marketing, District Support, and Evaluation teams to ensure consistent communication and aligned partner supports;
- Contributes to the development of outreach tools and materials: Helps shape recruitment content such as flyers, info decks, email templates, and outreach toolkits for use across internal and partner-led efforts;
- And, other duties as assigned within the scope of this position: Supports storytelling, documentation, public presentations, and team initiatives as needed.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent;
- Minimum of three (3) years’ demonstrated work experience with external partnership development or stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Education, Formal Training, and Experience
- Postsecondary education in Education, Public Administration, Communications, Nonprofit Management, and/or Workforce Development;
- Demonstrated experience in partnership development, related public service sectors, workforce development, workforce programs, or community engagements;
- Demonstrated work experience engaging external stakeholders and managing projects or events;
- Demonstrated work experience in recruitment or outreach;
- Prior experience in a senior coordinator or leadership capacity;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite platforms, especially on Mac OS.
Essential Traits
- Ability to engage stakeholders, build partnerships within workforce development or education systems, and implement effective outreach strategies;
- Ability to adapt approaches based on data, regional needs, and partner feedback;
- Familiarity with California’s workforce development infrastructure and external entities that would be useful for CAF to partner with;
- A passion for food systems and a strong interest in childhood wellness; demonstrated commitment to school food reform;
- Ability to learn and engage with learning technology programs;
- Ability to balance and prioritize competing timelines/deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing;
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively;
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Flexible mindset and innovative thinker;
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and training.
Compensation
Compensation ranges between $54,600 - $71,280 per year and will be commensurate with the candidate’s previous experience and credentials. The Chef Ann Foundation is a great place to work. **This position, and any continued employment thereafter, is expressly contingent upon the availability of funding for the position. CAF's obligation to employ and compensate is conditioned on:
(a) the organization’s receipt of sufficient budgeted funds for the position for the applicable fiscal period and
(b) Ongoing approval of such funding by the organization in its discretion, consistent with applicable law.
If, after employment begins, funding for the position is reduced, not renewed, or otherwise becomes unavailable, CAF may terminate employment effective on the later of
(i) the date funding ceases or (ii) after providing at least 60 days' advance written notice, subject to any additional obligations under applicable law.
