Job Description

The Grant Writing Coordinator supports the Chef Ann Foundation’s mission by researching and pursuing funding opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and managing the full grants process. This role is essential to securing philanthropic support that expands programs, increases impact, and advances school food reform nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafts, writes, and submits clear, persuasive, and compelling grant proposals and LOIs (Letter of Intent); Identifies prospective funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies;
  • Ensures that all proposals meet the funder’s guidelines, requirements, and deadlines;
  • Collaborates closely with program, development, and finance teams to collect data and narrative content that reflects program goals and impact;
  • Develops and tailors boilerplate language and creates proposal templates that support the fundraising team’s overall efforts;
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date grants calendar to track application and reporting deadlines;
  • Ensures timely submission of progress and final reports for awarded grants, in collaboration with program and finance teams;
  • Tracks grant outcomes, deliverables, and funder communications in the development database (e.g., Salesforce or similar CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platforms;
  • Supports the development of grant proposal budgets and ensures alignment with program expenses and funder guidelines;
  • Conducts ongoing research and evaluation of potential funders to develop tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies;
  • And other duties as assigned within the scope of this position. 

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated work experience in nonprofit grant writing and management;
  • Demonstrated proven success in securing grants from private foundations, corporate funders, and/or government sources;
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite platforms, especially on Mac OS. Experience preferred in Salesforce, Zoom, and Adobe;
  • Ability to work virtually.

Preferred Education, Formal Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree; 
  • Proven work experience in grant writing with strong skills in writing, editing, and storytelling;
  • Training or certification in grant writing or fundraising;
  • Familiarity with funding trends in education, child nutrition, or public health;
  • Knowledge of nonprofit compliance and grant reporting best practices;
  • Experience tracking grant outcomes and funder communications.

Compensation

Compensation ranges between $48,825 - $62,640 per year and will be commensurate with the candidate’s previous experience and credentials. The Chef Ann Foundation is a great place to work. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the Continental U.S.
