We ensure that school food professionals have the resources, funding and support they need to provide cook-from-scratch meals that support the health of children and our planet. Job Description
Transforming school food relies on uplifting and investing in school food professionals. CAF designed its Healthy School Food Pathway program – which consists of federally-registered Pre-Apprenticeship, Apprenticeship, and Fellowship programs – to offer a structured training solution for school food professionals to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to make school food healthier, more sustainable, and equitable. The Healthy School Food Pathway Fellowship program operates nationally, while the Healthy School Food Pathway Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship programs currently operate in California and Colorado, with plans to expand to several additional states in the coming years.
The Marketing Coordinator, Programs (Workforce Development) will support the marketing and communications needs of CAF’s Healthy School Food Pathway program and other school food workforce development initiatives.
This includes assisting with program launches, recruitment initiatives, and program-related events and developing print and digital marketing and communications materials. The Marketing Coordinator, Programs (Workforce Development) will help demonstrate the impact of the Healthy School Food Pathway program through people-centered storytelling, supporting communications for program participants and other stakeholders, contributing to program brand efforts, and more. This position will also help other school food workforce development projects as needed.
The Marketing Coordinator of Programs (Workforce Development) reports to the Senior Marketing Coordinator of Programs (Workforce Development). This is a full-time, limited-service role through 2026, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability. The position is available immediately. Occasional travel is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Programs teams to plan and execute communications across CAF’s external communications channels to promote the Healthy School Food Pathway program and other workforce development initiatives.
- Create compelling and engaging materials for varying audiences across CAF’s communications channels, including blogs, newsletters, promotional materials, social media posts, and email outreach.
- Support marketing recruitment and awareness campaigns for the Healthy School Food Pathway program, including social media posts, email outreach, and print/digital collateral.
- Develop materials to support technical assistance efforts at K-12 districts from the Operations team, ensuring program participants have the necessary resources for success
- Create compelling marketing materials to support the recruitment of K-12 districts
- Manage content uploads, including program recordings for YouTube, and minor website updates.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure program updates are effectively communicated and aligned with CAF’s broader marketing strategy.
- Design program marketing materials for online and print, including graphics for digital program launches.
- Support marketing efforts and plan for CAF’s presence at key events such as industry conferences
- Assists in the development of strategic plans to meet operational goals;
- Supports other marketing, event planning, and programming projects as needed;
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- At least 2 years of combined experience coordinating marketing and/or communications;
- Demonstrated experience writing and editing a variety of short- (social media posts, newsletter blurbs, etc.) and long-form (blog posts, press releases, etc.) content;
- Demonstrated experience supporting the execution of omnichannel marketing campaigns;
- Experience coordinating with marketing vendors and/or contractors (printers, photographers, designers, etc.);
- Basic understanding of print and digital materials production (e.g., differences between file types, resolutions, color formats, etc.);
- Basic knowledge of design fundamentals (e.g., what makes designs effective or ineffective considering communication goals);
- Basic proficiency in Canva;
- Strong proficiency in Google Workspace platforms (Docs, Sheets, Slides), especially on Mac OS;
- Ability to work virtually; occasional travel required (roughly 5%).
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, or related field;
- Experience with marketing/content calendars and website content management systems preferred;
- High level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, email management systems, video conferencing, and webinars;
- Experience using project management platforms (CAF uses Asana);
- Basic experience editing website content;
- Proficient in Spanish;
- Located in California or Colorado

Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive annual salary range of $48,825- $62,640 based on experience and qualifications. The Chef Ann Foundation is a great place to work. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the U.S with a preference to CA or CO.
